Generation Beckley Commemorates the Holiday Season with Service
Beckley, WV — With the days getter shorter and weather getting colder, a force of local young emerging business leaders known as Generation Beckley are stepping to the plate once again to spread holiday cheer in the community.
Generation Beckley’s Chairman, Jeff Miller says, “This is a part of our group’s mission. While our group members come from a wide variety of professions and industries, we have a common goal of helping those in the Beckley- Raleigh County area and promoting the area in which we live.”
For a second consecutive year, members of Generation Beckley will help prepare and work Mac’s Toy Fund, a local toy drive to aid the less fortunate and named after its founder, the late Ted “Mac” McDowell, a former editor of the Beckley Post-Herald.
Of the opportunity to help, Miller says, “Mac’s Toy Fund is truly second to none when it comes to an event that represents the true meaning of Christmas and we couldn’t be happier, as a group, to help with such a great event.
”Members of Generation Beckley will then be serving a dose of Christmas cheer during the 81st Annual Mac’s Toy Fund event on Saturday, December 17th at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
Chase Cappellari, Vice Chair and Director of Public Relations for Generation Beckley, says “While we are anticipating a strong showing of our current membership base, we are hoping that we are joined by some new faces this holiday season. Any of our three December events would be a great time to inquire, learn what we do and join our movement.
”For more information on Generation Beckley, to sign up for the group’s holiday service initiatives or obtain a membership application, visit www.generationbeckley.com or call Cappellari at 304.250.4552.
